The Cape Town Cycle Tour and Marathon, UTCT, Cape Epic and Robben Island swims are proof of this. Those are just some races in and around the city, not to mention the plethora of others in the Winelands and up and down the east & west coast. An active lifestyle paradise!
Combining swimming, cycling and running, triathlon is unique in endurance sport. It’s the healthiest combination to train for and the most exciting for spectators to watch.
With some major events moving dates and the City of Cape Town playing host to all kinds of events, securing dates that work for a mix of venues on one day is understandably challenging. That’s why the 3rd edition of the RSAWEB Cape Town Triathlon 2024 has had to move to March 23rd 2025.
The silver lining of that shift is that after a particularly cold and wet winter we know local athletes will be super fit and revving after the likes of Blue Lagoon tri and the ‘Argus’ Cycle Tour.
What’s even better is that it now sits right between Blue Lagoon on 15/16 Feb and Race2Hermanus on 10 May both timing wise and geographically spanning the 3 holiday highlight hubs of the Western Cape. This timing and geo location made for a natural extension of our triple tri medal.
The Cape Triathlon Series, made up of SA’s biggest sprint and standard distance races and the Western Cape’s biggest ultra into a natural series. For South Africans, by South Africans.
Since we launched the West Coast Warmwater Weekend in 2009 we have hosted family friendly, inclusive, fun events in beautiful venues. Our focus has remained on the athlete experience. We try to be professional but always deliver warm & friendly experiences.
We try to keep each race experience unique and we very hard to maximise athlete value with quality tee shirts, caps and other spoils + much cheaper entry fees than global brand races.
Over the 14 years we have learned a lot and have always listened to our loyal athletes constructive feedback. We think that’s why we received the best ever response to each of the 3 events this past year. From our athlete surveys it seems we are getting a lot right now.
