Toyota Specialized team rider Alex Miller just won Wines2Whales, months after his 2nd Olympics, and the Namibian mountain biker is still only 23 years old!
Alex's impressive career includes competing at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympics, earning a Commonwealth Games bronze medal, and donning the African champion jersey at the prestigious Absa Cape Epic. But his story goes beyond the podium. From growing up on a remote Namibian farm, home schooled, where his love for mountain biking began on self-built trails, to balancing professional racing with a passion for trail building and photography, his journey is a testament to grit and joy.
As Alex says, "The main reason you compete is because of the joy you get out of it. If you’re not enjoying it, you’re doing something wrong." This philosophy shines through in everything he does, from his trail-building projects to the stoke he shares with his teammates.
In the video, we talk about his favorite trails, the determination that drives him to push his limits, and his partnership with #ToyotaSpecialized. We also touched on lighter moments, stories with teammates and the balance he finds between life on and off the bike.
